The Balik Kampung Experience is built around the things that actually create connection: shared effort, shared stories, shared food, and the kind of unhurried time together that the modern workplace rarely allows.

The Programme
A day unlike any other.
Kampung Journey
~45 minYour team assembles at Changi Point Ferry Terminal and boards the bumboat to Pulau Ubin. The ten-minute crossing marks the transition — city behind you, kampung ahead. Walking groups complete light team challenges along the 25-minute path to our kampung.
Kampung Welcome
~20 minArrive at the kampung to traditional refreshments and a warm welcome from our family. First impressions of the house, the garden, and the way of life that has shaped us.
Our Kampung Story
~30 minFamily members share the story of our home — four generations, the choices made, the things kept and the things lost. Participants are invited to ask questions and share their own family stories.
Kampung Challenges
~60 minTraditional games and activities designed around teamwork, communication and genuine fun. Congkak, gasing, bakul toss and more — activities that require cooperation, not competition.
Team Kampung Cook-Out
~60 minTeams cook together using simple equipment, traditional ingredients and tools — including the stone mortar and pestle that has been in our family for three generations. No professional kitchen. No shortcuts. Just people cooking together.
Communal Meal
~45 minTeams sit together and share the meal they have prepared. The table is where the real conversations happen. This is the heart of the kampung experience.
Reflection & Celebration
~20 minA facilitated team reflection, individual recognition, and a group photograph to mark the day. Participants leave with something to carry back to the office — and beyond.
